Namesake - -

Below is an essay I found by Ched Meyers that has a title similar to the name of this blog. While I had not seen this essay before I chose the name for my blog, the content it holds reflects the churnings in my mind that led to "...and they all ate and were satisfied." That said...I feel sharing this article is quite appropriate for this first post.

Thank you for your words on Sunday.
I just read this article about the Haitian woman and her month old baby son and I feel sick. I am full. Over full. How can I go to sleep at night knowing people are eating dirt cookies just to survive? My daughter, Lorelei, was a PC worker in the town in Haiti where the dirt for cookies is said to be mined. She is back now..a Columbia graduate students. We have so much. What can we do?
